Owsley County Schools Join Dataseam Partnership
Dataseam has announced Owsley County Schools, Booneville, Kentucky, unanimously voted at their February 2023 Board of Education meeting to rejoin the statewide Dataseam partnership.
Established in 2003, the Initiative is a statewide partnership between private sector, K-12, higher education and state and federal government created to grow Kentucky-based STEM research commercialization and innovation, education and workforce development. Dataseam supports the DataseamGrid, a proprietary, statewide research computing infrastructure and directs activity to recruit and prepare a knowledge-based workforce for Kentucky.

Dataseam announced today grants from both the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) and the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to provide over $2 million in advanced instructional computing to participating eastern Kentucky schools.
A $750,000 grant was awarded to Dataseam to expand an IT apprenticeship program for up to 23 additional Kentucky counties, paving the way for 136 students to earn certifications.
